Artist's Description
The Locust Cove wildfire burns in the distant ridges from the Laurel Knob overlook under the moonlit landscape on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. Laurel Knob overlook is located at milepost 349.2 and sits at an elevation of 4160' making it the perfect place to view the mountains from above. The land that sits in front of this overlook was the first tract of land purchased by the U.S. Forest Service in 1911.
