Description
Went backpacking this past weekend up to Big Hump Mountain in the Roan Highlands of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We linked up with another group at the top and spent the evening enjoying the amazing views and campfire. When we all turned in for the night the wind was relentless as it howled the entire evening. When morning came the wind died down. I emerged from my tent in awe as I was witnessing one of the more intensely colorful sunrises in a while. I ran down to this spot where the wind flattened the brush. I used it to lead the viewer deeper in to the scene. Grandfather mountain can be seen in the background of the shot. These are the moments that make my heart skip a few beats. I come back home refreshed and humbled to start the week with a new perspective.
